Pappy's Place

I attempted to make reservations for a celebration dinner on the website but the link would not work. I called the phone number listed and was given an automated voice that said they would send me a link to make my reservations and it hung up on me. I never got a message. I called and finally got a hold of someone and was informed you can only make reservations for parties or 5 or more people? It is over an hour drive to this restaurant, yet I am are unable to make a reservation to secure a table? I hope one day to be able to visit as I have heard good things about this place, however the customer service needs to be worked on.

Hubby and I went to have their breakfast brunch. It was terrible. The scrambled eggs were so rubbery and the hashbrowns were so soggy. Also I asked for orange juice and waitress said it on buffet line. Little tiny plastic cups that warm. Then we overheard a waitress to a group of people please eat all your food on your plate before you get another plate. I mean really who says that. Very rude. Will not eat there again. Very disappointing.

We went last Friday night- about 6:00pm. Parking lot was full, so we thought we would need to wait for a table. We were told 10 minute wait. Granted- it’s their best guess, but multiple tables were open and we weren’t seated. I was thinking maybe they were short staffed, and trying to each cover more individual tables? We waited 35 minutes and we’re finally seated, given menus. A lady came over 10 minutes later just to get our drink order, not food. She said she would be back for it. We set and talked another 20 minutes. No drinks, no food order taken. Others that came after us had drinks. We were a small part of 4. No idea if they didn’t know who our waitress was, or what the actual issue with getting service. We waited another 10 minutes- making time from when we walked in the door 90 minutes without any service other then being seated and drink order taken. We finally left and went down the street for wonderful Mexican food instead. Maybe it was just a bad night, I’m not sure. But zero customer service skills. Large menu, full bar (I’m guessing, they did take our drink order- just never received), salad bar, and evening specials listed. Mostly older crowd- everyone was 3x our age. Honestly 60’s and over for age group.

This place was such a pleasant surprise! The food was absolutely gourmet. My husband had the prime rib and I had the lobster shrimp pasta. Both of us were completely blown away. The prices were excellent and the service was even better! Sheila, the owner, was our server, and it was so nice to see first hand the care and pride in the quality of the restaurant. We cannot wait to come back. We highly recommend this place!!

Went here for our anniversary for the first time. Went in during non busy hours and was two of only a few people. Sat for 22 minutes before they asked what we wanted to drink. Ordered two sodas and waited another 10 minutes. After 30 minutes still had no drinks nor had our order been taken. We got up and walked out as they begged us to please come back and sit down and they'd get us out drinks immediately. I'm good. First impressions matter, don't plan to go back. We ended up going to Olive Garden which was a downgrade, and got perfect service.
